The Holistic Group Fitness Instructor™ (HGFI) is a credential that allows you to be a part of our team. R.E.L.A.X.™ can be used in your fitness facility, with your at home clients or place of employment. After completing this course you will be able to do more then group fitness.If you are the only certified individual you will be the one overseeing our program. We ask that only certified individuals instruct and oversee our program.

As a Holistic Group Fitness Instructor™ (HGFI) you will be able to instruct the Mindful Stretch™ class, offer one on one meditation sessions,use aromatherapy and be a stress management coach for clients. Each program that you prescribe will be customizable for each individual. R.E.L.A.X.™ blends well with medical programs that you may already be working with. In our program, we use traditional stretches, some of which are similar to Makaho stretches in Chinese Medicine. When stretching, we stretch the muscles but also may move positive energy through the body. This helps to initiate a deeper relaxation response.

Mindful Stretch™ is a gentle class designed to elicit the relaxation response in a different way from yoga or pilates. Our classes blend stress management techniques with stretching and aromatherapy scents. The class is formatted in a certain way so that participants can achieve a total state of relaxation.

Stress is prevalent in all of our lives and this course will help your clients cope with their stress. When you implement the techniques in this course, your clients will keep coming back to you. R.E.L.A.X.™ is the new generation of Mind/Body programming for the health and fitness industry.

To become a Holistic Group Fitness Instructor™ (HGFI) you must already be a yoga, Pilates or group fitness instructor. Please note that we do not certify individuals to become group fitness instructors or personal trainers. You must already have a primary certification if you want to be hired by a gym.

The course was also developed to help health and fitness professionals cope with their stress. You will learn about stress and different techniques to help you cope. As health and fitness professionals, you are always giving to others, however, you need stress management also.

Once you are certified, your certification is good for two years. Please read below for our continuing education requirements. It is important that each instructor is up to date with current information on fitness and stress management.

Course Objectives:

. Learn how to assess clients and appropriately classify them

. Coach clients on time management and healthy coping skills

. Choose appropriate modalities for each client

. Learn how to incorporate all of our modalities into the services you already provide

. Incorporate holistic modalities into your services

. Learn how work with special populations such as: Cancer, Arthritis, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s Disease as well as many other health conditions. Instructors may also work with healthy individuals.

What can I do once I pass my exam: A Stress Management Exercise Specialist™ can incorporate their new skill set into many settings. The PowerPoint can be used to offer lunch and learns for fitness facilities and companies. You may also consult with and coach clients on stress management.Group meditation, individual meditation and coordinating retreats are also options.
